Fee Information

Melissa has a fee for service practice. A receipt will be provided which can then be submitted to a third party payer for reimbursement. Payment is requested at time of service unless otherwise arranged.

Melissa Richter is a licensed clinical social worker providing individual, family and group therapy to adolescents and young adults. Her areas of expertise include the treatment of substance abuse, adjustment disorders, and mood disorders. Her special focus is the treatment of individuals ages thirteen to twenty-six, who struggle with co-occurring disorders, and who are facing family challenges, legal issues and school-related problems. She also provides Substance Abuse Evaluations and Chemical Dependency Interventions. Her approach includes motivational interviewing, and cognitive-behavioral, dialectical behavioral and psychodynamic interventions. Melissa also offers educational lectures throughout the community and at local high schools.

Education & Training

Melissa’s clinical internship was at the Chelsea Arbor Treatment Center (now the University of Michigan Addiction Treatment Services). Upon completing her internship and degree work from the University of Michigan School of Social Work, she worked at the Chelsea Arbor Treatment Center as an Adolescent and Young Adult Therapist. Melissa is currently a clinician at the University of Michigan Psychiatric Emergency Services.
